Dr. Suess!

I have not posted in soooo long!  I am soooo sorry!  Coaching the academic team and teaching kindergarten and hosting the regional Governor's Cup absolutely took over my life.  It took me a couple of weeks to recover, BUT now I'm back.  I have some fun pics  to share with you from our Read Across America - Happy Birthday Dr. Suess week!

Since the cafeteria ladies made the REAL Green Eggs and Ham for lunch one day, I made a tastier version for our snack.  I just used sugar cookie dough (store bought) and a cookie cutter that I bent into a fried egg shape.  The green egg yolk is some Easter candy that I found by Hersheys.  The kids liked my Green Eggs better than the cafeterias!!!!

As I read a different book every day of Read Across America week, we made a craft to go with that book.  You can see "One Fish, Two Fish", "Cat in the Hat" (2 different projects), "Green Eggs and Ham", and "The Lorax".  Such fun!  I just love art projects!

Each day of the week, our school had a different theme so the kids could dress the part of the Dr. Suess book.  (pajama day for the Sleep book; crazy socks for Fox in Socks; Hat day for Cat in the Hat; Green day for Green Eggs and Ham)   This was crazy sock day.  Although you can't see my crazy socks - I had to go to an ARC meeting so I had to roll my pants legs back down.  I really have on Hello Kitty multicolored socks!!!  My assistant, Stephanie, surprised me with the Thing One and Thing Two shirts.  I loved them!!!  Such a fun week!!!

100th Day of School

Since we have a 4-day school week, our 100th day is much later than most of yours.   I know that you probably aren't looking for ideas for your 100th day this late, but I still have to share ours.  We had such a blast celebrating.  I found my ideas on Pinterest and from units I purchased on TPT!!!  Enjoy our pics!!!

I just love this project from Deana Jump's 100th day of school unit.
It is "IF I WERE 100 YEARS OLD" pictures.  They are hilarious!

Making our traditional 100 fruit loop necklaces!!!

The finished fruit loop necklaces!  Cool, huh?!

Number search.....numbers with various colored backgrounds posted on walls of classroom.  The kids had to color the boxes on a hundred chart the corresponding color.  Took a LONG time!

These are the numbers for the number search......

Our 100 Collages......
(Can't remember where I saw this idea, but it is a great one.  The kids loved, and they look great hanging in the hallway!

This is what I had on their desks when they entered the room!

Teachers Supporting Teachers Update!

Exciting news!  The Teachers Supporting Teachers campaign in December after the shooting that occurred in Newton, Connecticut was such a success!  After a month of donating proceeds, our campaign coordinator Kristin Young (Little Miss Glamour Goes to Kindergarten - blog), announced that we surpassed the goal of $1000 with a grand total of $2,155 for the teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary!  WOW!

Thank you to those who purchased from my store in December/January.  I donated 100% of my sales to this campaign!

Be blessed!
Julie
